New York, NY – May 25, 2024 – The Howard Karagheusian Medical Benevolent Public Organization (HKMBPO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Alisa Badalyan as its Executive Director.
In her current capacity she oversees HKMBPO’s operations across four centers strategically located in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and Goris, serving approximately 50,000 children aged from 0 to 14 annually, providing essential programs such as dental, ophthalmic, social services, and special education.
Irina Lazarian, the Managing Director of the Karagheusian Foundation, which provides grants to the organization, expressed her delight about Dr. Badalyan’s appointment by the HKMBPO General Assembly: “Dr. Alisa Badalyan, a longstanding member of the organization, brings a wealth of professional expertise and dedication to both Foundation’s and HKMBPO’s missions and visions.
We are pleased to have her lead the organization during these challenging times for our nation. On behalf of the HKMBPO General Assembly, we wish her and the organization success.” Dr. Alisa Badalyan has been instrumental in key organizational milestones, significantly contributing to the launch of innovative programs and the enhancement of existing ones.
As the first dentist to join HKMBPO at its inception, she attended a special training program for pediatric dental specialists at Tufts University in Boston (2004, 2018), and similar related courses at New York University (2013), with the purpose of learning Western industry standards and sharing this knowledge with her colleagues in Armenia to further advance the field.
Dr. Badalyan’s extensive background and commitment to the organization’s values make her well-suited to lead HKMBPO into its next chapter of growth and impact.
